Emma Raducanu reveals her comeback tournament after injury setback

Emma Raducanu has confirmed she will make her return from injury at the Hong Kong Open later this month.

The 2021 US Open winner has not played since the Korea Open WTA 250 event last month, where she sprained ligaments in her foot.

Raducanu earned wins over Peyton Stearns and Yuan Yue in Seoul before she was forced to retire after the first set of her quarter-final match with Daria Kasatkina due to the injury.
The world No 54, who initially had planned a packed schedule for the Asian swing, has been forced to miss four tournaments in China.

The 21-year-old Brit withdrew from the China Open and the Wuhan Open, two WTA 1000 events where she was set to enter the qualifying draws.

Raducanu then pulled out of the ongoing Ningbo Open WTA 500 event and next week’s Guangzhou Open, a WTA 250 tournament.

In a video shared on social media, Raducanu confirmed she will make her debut at the WTA 250 event in Hong Kong.

“Hello everyone, it’s Emma Raducanu here,” Raducanu said. “I really cannot wait to come and play the Prudential Women’s Hong Kong Open.

“It’s my first time playing the WTA event there, but I was there in December last year and I really loved the city.

“So I’m very much looking forward to coming and I hope to see you all there in October.”
