Camila Giorgi retired
Aged 32, Italian tennis star, ranked 116th in the latest WTA rankings, Camila Giorgi left top-level tennis in complete anonymity.
No message on social networks, not a word in the press, not a line (for the moment) on the WTA website, only information published on the Tennis International Integrity website, where she has recently been listed among the retired players.
A colorful champion, capable of the best and the worst, Camila Giorgi has had a complicated relationship with her sport and her fans.
His last match on the circuit dates back to March 2024, a heavy defeat against Iga Swiatek, during the Miami tournament. Then Giorgi announced his withdrawal for the entire clay court season.
Former Italian No. 1, Camila Giorgi won four titles in her career, including the WTA 1000 in Montreal in 2018. She will remain one of the best Italian players in history.
