Today’s guest is Lindsey Vonn, the most successful women’s ski racer of all time. We were super excited to interview Lindsey, we both have grown up ski racing and Lindsey has been our hero since we first started skiing. We really appreciate Lindsey’s open and thoughtful answers to our questions. Lindsey talked about the challenges she has faced, advice she is willing to share with our listeners and insights into what the Lindsey Vonn Foundation is doing to help out young girls. We hope you enjoy the episode. LINDSEY VONN’S BIO
Lindsey Vonn is a former alpine ski racer on the US Ski Team. She won four World Cup overall championships—one of only two female skiers to do so. Vonn is one of 6 women to have won World Cup races in all five disciplines of alpine skiing (slalom, giant slalom, downhill, super-G, and super combined). She won 82 World Cup races in her career, which is the most ever for women ski racers.
Vonn represented the United States in four Winter Olympics, winning one gold and two bronze medals. Her gold medal in downhill at the 2010 Winter Olympics was the first one for an American woman. She also won a record 8 World Cup season titles in the downhill discipline, 5 titles in super-G, and 3 consecutive titles in the combined. In 2016, she won her 20th World Cup crystal globe title, the overall record for men or women. She has the second highest super ranking of all skiers, men or women. Vonn is the most successful American ski racer and considered one of the greatest of all skiers.
