But the LPGA Tour also faced criticism from Nelly Korda and Charley Hull for the slow pace of play at the tournament.
Korda and Hull both finished their third rounds in darkness due to the issue, with the latter suggesting players should be stripped of their tour cards if penalised three times for slow play.
Her fellow American Lexi Thompson, who missed the cut last week, has now discussed the current situation with the LPGA Tour and the increased interest in women’s sports.
“Yeah, well, first and foremost, I think women’s sports in general are on such a high right now and moving in the right direction, whether it’s growing in each sport or golf in general,” she said in her opening CME Group Tour Championship press conference.
