Prince William has a new documentary on the horizon, Prince William: We Can End Homelessness. To get royal fans excited about his latest project, the Prince of Wales shared a set of never-before-seen photos featuring his late mother, Princess Diana, and a visit that they took to The Passage, a homelessness charity in London. The charity posted a carousel of images that showed a 1993 visit from the late princess and her eldest son, who was 11 years old at the time.
The photos show William and his mother posing with chefs and the late royal speaking with a group of individuals at the Passage. William opened up about the first time that he went to the Passage in the documentary, saying, “My mother took me to The Passage. She took Harry and I both there. I must have been about 11, I think, probably, at the time. Maybe 10. I’d never been to anything like that before. And I was a bit anxious as to what to expect. I remember at the time, kind of thinking, Well, if everyone’s not got a home, they’re all going to be really sad.”
William is now patron of The Passage as well as another charity with a similar mission, Centerpoint. The new post from The Passage also showed him working with the charity more recently as an adult.
“‘Prince William: We Can End Homelessness’ will give an exclusive, behind the scenes look at the first year of this five-year programme; whilst presenting our shared mission to change perceptions and demonstrate that it is possible to end homelessness,” the organization captioned its post.
“Our Chief Executive, Mick Clarke commented: ‘For William this is personal. He has a long history of involvement on this issue, back to when his mother took him to The Passage when he was 11…That is where the genesis of @HomewardsUK came from.'”
“I remember having some good conversations—just playing chess and chatting,” William continued. “That’s when it dawned on me that there are other people out there who don’t have the same life as you do.”

Prince William: We Can End Homelessness is streaming now in the U.K. and will be available worldwide thanks to Disney+ on Friday, November 1. The new documentary will show William’s efforts to end homelessness and address the guilt he feels for not being able to do more for unhoused people in his home country.
“I’ve spent enough time learning and listening to what people have been through that I feel almost guilty every time I leave,” the prince shared. “I come with no other agenda other than desperately trying to help people who are in need. I see that as part of my role.”
