Nelly Korda continues to make LPGA Tour history as she secured her second major title at the Chevron Championship, marking her fifth win in five consecutive starts. Korda became just the third player in LPGA Tour history to win five consecutive starts and the first American to win five times in a season since 1999.
Entering the final round, Korda had a 32.3% chance to win the tournament (according to KPMG insights) trailing by one shot and after chipping in on the 10th hole for birdie Korda ballooned to a 91% chance to win. Korda held strong as multiple competitors attempted to chase her down and she finished on 18 with a birdie to win by 2-strokes at 13-under (68-69-69-69).
World No.1 Korda and fellow Team TaylorMade athlete and World No. 1 Scottie Scheffler are the second pair of World No. 1’s to win majors in consecutive weeks since the inception of the Rolex Rankings in 2006. Korda and Scheffler play Qi10 Max driver and Qi10 driver respectively.
