Jordan Spieth is aiming to make a comeback in the 2025 PGA Tour season following successful wrist surgery last month. The golfer, who last played at the FedEx St. Jude Classic at TPC Southwind, struggled to maintain top form throughout the recent season. Despite a strong start with a third-place finish at The Sentry and tying for sixth in the WM Phoenix Open, he missed seven cuts, including the Masters.
Spieth’s absence from the final two playoffs in the BMW Championship and Tour Championship was notable. He has been seen wearing a cast since his surgery and has shared his recovery timeline. “I think that by 2025, by Jan. 1, it’s my goal to be tournament-ready,” Spieth told Golfweek. He aims not just to participate but to perform at his highest level.
Spieth Aims for 2025 PGA Tour Return
The American golfer expressed gratitude for his medical team and family support during this period of rest and rehabilitation. In a tweet, Spieth stated, “I had a procedure on my left wrist last week, as I had mentioned was the plan. The operation went smoothly and I’m grateful for the exceptional medical team and support of Annie and my family.”
Spieth’s career includes three major wins and 13 overall victories on the PGA Tour, yet he hasn’t won since April 2022 at the RBC Heritage. Although he didn’t qualify for the 2025 season-opening tournament, he plans to compete in the Sony Open in Hawaii in January.
The decision to undergo surgery was influenced by personal factors affecting his daily life. Spieth explained that his wrist issues impacted activities at home, such as lifting his daughter or putting on clothes. “I would say the number one reason why I ended up getting it done was because it affects my way of life at home,” Spieth said.
The unpredictability of his wrist dislocating prompted him to seek medical intervention after consulting various doctors and scans confirmed it wouldn’t heal naturally. This decision was crucial for both his professional career and personal well-being.
Spieth’s determination to return stronger reflects his commitment to both his sport and personal life balance. His fans eagerly anticipate seeing him back on course performing at his best once again.
