Lexi Thompson has been missing in action since making her PGA Tour debut at the Shriners Children’s Open. The American golfer was experiencing a resurgent career after the Solheim Cup, making back-to-back top-ten finishes at the NW Arkansas and Ascendants LPGA. But since the TPC Summerlin outing, she missed the next LPGA tournaments.
Fans were a little relieved to see her vacationing in Canada after the Las Vegas outing. But that relief has been dashed by a recent Instagram update. The 11-time LPGA tour winner revealed she has been experiencing “hand pain” once again.
Injury keeps blocking Lexi Thompson’s progress
Recently, Lexi Thompson shared a story on her Instagram profile. Posting a picture of herself inside a gym locker room, the 28-year-old-golfer shared an update that she has been struggling with injuries again.
This time it’s her hand that’s been bothering her. “Been experiencing hand pain again, so had another procedure today,” she stated
This was not the first time the LPGA star was facing hand pain though. Early this year in April, the pro golfer appeared at the Chevron Championship with black tape wrapped around her wrist. That time, she confessed she had overworked her practice. Now, it remains to be seen whether Thompson, a known strong hitter, will continue to suffer in her progress in the next tournaments.
But one good news for fans is she appeared to be coming fresh out of the gym. So, in all likelihood, the pain is not so severe to force a prolonged hiatus in her career as the 11-time-LPGA-tour winner further wrote, “Just 1-2 days of rest and just cardio then will be good,” adding a fist bump emoji on the Instagram story.
