“Great first (two) weeks of preseason in Dubai. Let’s keep it up,” he wrote. The photo features Rybakina and Ivanisevic with physical trainer Azuz Simcich and physio Stefan Duell, all grinning as they come off a practice court.
It’s a sight for sore eyes for Rybakina fans, with the world No. 6 having played just three events after Wimbledon as she struggled with a lingering back injury and internal issues.
Rybakina was last in action at the WTA Finals in Riyadh, where she wrapped up an up-and-down season with a statement win over world No. 1 Aryna Sabalenka.
That’s also where the 25-year-old revealed the news of her new partnership with Ivanisevic, who has previously worked with Marin Cilic, Tomas Berdych and Milos Raonic before teaming up with Djokovic in 2019.
“Really looking forward to this partnership,” Rybakina told press in Riyadh. “I think he’s great champion and he has so much experience. I’m really looking forward to start…
“I definitely wanted to work with him. I’m sure since he said ‘Yes’ he (as well)…
“I want to learn. I’m just looking forward. It’s something new for me. Also, I’ve been with one coach for long time.”
