Jordan Spieth has confirmed that he will be one of the professional players in the appearing in the movie Happy Gilmore 2. Spieth also confirmed the names of other major world golf stars as part of the film’s cast.
Spieth made the comments during an interview with Sirius XM PGA Tour Radio’s Gravy & The Sleeze show. According to the three-time major champion, Happy Gilmore 2 is working with some of the biggest names in golf, both historic and current.
This was part of what Jordan Spieth had to say:
“I was up there with Rickie [Fowler]… when I was up there it was like Lee Trevino, [Jack] Nicklaus, Freddy [Fred Couples], Corey Pavin… In our scene next to me it was Rickie, and Collin [Morikawa], and Xander [Schauffele], and Keegan [Bradley].”
He added:
“It was really fun, super cool to see, you know… there’s a lot of other guys that were before and after, that have bigger parts, but, it was just wildly entertaining.”
The news that production on Happy Gilmore 2 has begun was announced last March by actor Christopher McDonald, who plays the character of Shooter McGavin.
Much of the original cast will return for the sequel, including McDonald himself, Adam Sandler (Happy Gilmore), Julie Bowen (Virginia Venit), Allen Covert (Otto), Dennis Dugan (Doug Thompson), and Ben Stiller (Hal).
