Scottie Scheffler says Collin Morikawa did something ‘huge’ during their win on day three of the Presidents Cup

Scottie Scheffler secured another point for Team USA at the Presidents Cup alongside Collin Morikawa in the four-balls but he was quick to pay tribute to his partner despite making two late birdies to seal the point.

Scheffler holed out twice in succession on the last few holes to seal a win over Taylor Pendrith and Adam Scott and ensure a big red point for Team USA.

The world number one is the talisman for Jim Furyk’s man and it was Scheffler who put up the most fight in yesterday’s whitewash by the Internationals.

Of course, there was to be no repeat today as Scheffler and Morikawa worked well together to win.

After Scheffler had found water on 15, Morikawa scrambled for a par before Pendrith and Scott both missed birdie putts.

The par from Morikawa proved huge and Scheffler, ever the classy player, made sure Morikawa got his flowers.
