Golf fans are split after Bryson DeChambeau, Rory McIlroy and Scottie Scheffler match is confirmed for December

After a few years of back and forth between LIV and PGA Tour fans, it looks like we’ve finally taken some small steps to the two tours collaborating.

Yesterday’s news that Rory McIlroy and Scottie Scheffler will go head to head with Bryson DeChambeau and Brooks Koepka in a two v two match in Las Vegas was certainly a headline grabber.

While nothing has been confirmed officially just yet, the BBC reported that McIlroy had indeed confirmed the event for December, while the actual PGA Tour have said they don’t have any affiliation with the event.

Still, regardless of who authorises it and what banner it’s sold under, the fact is that this is very good news for golf fans around the world.

Seeing McIlroy, Scheffler, DeChambeau and Koepka go head to head is what people have been crying out for.

But over on social media, it seems that while there’s some excitement, there’s also a feeling that this is a bit of a cash grab from the players involved!

Golf fans are 50/50 after McIlroy and Scheffler v DeChambeau and Koepka news
As always, social media platform X is the place to be for the best reactions.

And it seems the news of a McIlroy/Scheffler v DeChambeau/Koepka showdown has garnered mixed reactions among the masses.

It’s interesting how the PGA Tour have said they want nothing to do with this, so it will be interesting to see if LIV put their name to it anywhere for the PR win.
