Camila Giorgi Sportstiger
Born in Macerata, Italy, to Jewish parents Sergio Giorgi and Claudia Gabriella Fullone, Camila’s tennis journey commenced at a local club at the tender age of 5. Her father, a Falklands War veteran, doubles up as her coach, while her mother is a notable fashion designer.
Camila made her professional debut in 2006 and soared into the top 100 in 2012. She stunned the tennis world with a fourth-round appearance at Wimbledon in 2012, followed by a quarterfinal run in 2018.
Giorgi’s career boasts notable victories at the 2013 US Open, Indian Wells Open, and Eastbourne International. In 2021, she clinched her biggest title at the National Bank Open, defeating Karolína Plíšková.
