With the US Open just around the corner, the world’s top players have arrived in New York for the final Grand Slam of the season. Jannik Sinner, Iga Swiatek, Carlos Alcaraz, Coco Gauff, and Novak Djokovic are set to headline the event, with main draw action starting on Monday, August 26.
As the ATP and WTA tours converge in New York over the next fortnight, fans can look forward to plenty of exciting action. This year, the US Open will not only showcase tantalizing tennis but will also highlight some prominent couples that have been making their mark in the sport, especially over the last couple of years.With prominent stars finding their match right beside them on the tennis court, here’s a look at five tennis couples who will be in action at US Open 2024.

Anastasia Potapova and Alexander Shevchenko are one of two married couples that will be in action at this year’s US Open. Potapova and Shevchenko got married in 2023 in Russia.The former will begin her US Open campaign against 23rd seed Leylah Fernandez in a highly anticipated first-round match on Tuesday. Shevchenko, meanwhile, is set to start against Dominik Koepfer on Monday. Neither of them has been past the second round at the New York Major.

Boulter is set to open her US Open campaign against Aliaksandra Sasnovich, while de Minaur will face Marcos Giron in his first-round match.

Arguably the most talked-about couple in tennis, Paula Badosa and Stefanos Tsitsipas continue to make headlines.
The pair recently triumphed in the inaugural Mixed Madness, a mixed doubles event that was part of the US Open Fan Week. They defeated Amanda Anisimova and Taylor Fritz in the final to be crowned champions, securing the $250,000 prize money.Speaking to James Blake afterward, Tsitsipas described it as “one of the coolest date nights he could’ve asked for”.
The pair first connected in May 2023 during the Italian Open and confirmed they were dating in June via a joint Instagram account. They caused a stir in the tennis world when they amicably split in May this year, only to reconcile two weeks later before the start of the French Open.Seeded 26th, Badosa will begin her campaign at the New York Major against Viktorija Golubic on Monday. Tsitsipas, the 11th seed, will face Thanasi Kokkinakis in the opening round.
