Scottie Scheffler has given his bank account a fairly significant boost after a simply stunning 2024 season to date.
The American has won six times on the PGA Tour, including picking up his second green jacket at Augusta National in April.
Furthermore, the 28-year-old claimed Olympic gold at Le Golf National on Sunday. Despite all his success this year, Scheffler looked visibly emotional when receiving his gold at the 2018 Ryder Cup venue.
Scottie Scheffler will win the Comcast Business Top 10. With that comes $8 million, twice last year’s prize of $4 million. That’ll bring Scheffler’s earnings from PGA Tour to $36,148,691 in ’24. Still two $20m purse events left, and the Player Impact Program, and FedEx Cup bonus.
High-profile journalist Dan Rapaport has now crunched the numbers and confirmed that Scheffler has earned $36,148,691 since the beginning of the year.
Golf fans have since reacted to Rapaport’s social media post, and the same suggestion about LIV Golf has continually emerged.
Scheffler’s earnings are staggering from a normal fan’s perspective. Yet, the world number one’s $36 million is nothing when compared to the money LIV Golf paid players to simply turn up to breakaway league events.
Fans were quick to highlight the LIV comparison on X.
“Imagine all he has to do to make that much,” wrote one fan. That is probably a lower-end LIV offer for a mediocre player on the PGA.” Another added, “Amazing! It’s almost 1/5 of what he’d get on LIV. Cool stuff.”
