Scottie Scheffler of the United States poses with the trophy on the 18th green after putting in to win in a playoff during the final round of the T..

Shane Lowry has revealed what he believes Scottie Scheffler does better than any other golfer he has ever seen, while he explained why the world number one is so good right now.

There is no doubt who the best player on the planet is at present, with Scottie Scheffler making history already in 2024 having become the first player since Arnold Palmer in 1962 to win six times on the PGA Tour before July.

Scheffler also has more FedEx Cup points than Xander Schauffele and Rory McIlroy combined, so it is hardly surprising that many are wondering whether the 28-year-old is going to be the player to emerge from this modern era and get closest to the major tallies of Tiger Woods and Jack Nicklaus.

Of course, Woods really changed the game when he burst onto the scene, with the 15-time major champion having an ability to inspire a crowd like no-one else with some of the shots that he would pull off.

Shane Lowry suggests what makes Scottie Scheffler so great
It sounds unfair, but Scheffler does not seem to create that same level of buzz – although that may largely be down to how simple the Masters champion makes the game look at times.

Speaking on Warming Up, Shane Lowry explained what Scheffler does so well – potentially better than anyone else who currently plays the game.

“I think when we’re playing on tour, your good days are always going to be good, but you want to make sure your bad days are better than the other people. If your bad days are still good, then you’re going to be a good tour player,” he said.

“That’s what somewhat separates Scottie, I think Scottie’s bad shots as so good. He looks like he misses one still on the green, or his driver still hits the fairway, and I think that’s why he’s so good.
